Pegasus Logistics Group Employees Raised $35,000 to Fight Asthma

Dallas, March 30, 2004 – The employees of Pegasus Logistics Group celebrated a successful fundraising drive on Friday, March 26, 2004 by presenting a check for $35,000 to Jan Scoggins of the American Lung Association of Texas. "This means so much to me as a mother of a child with Asthma," Jan said when the amount was revealed.

Pegasus employees from all parts of the company devoted their time and creativity to planning events including a charity auction, a bake sale and a diverse range of raffles to raise money. Employees also participated in The Asthma Walk (Blow the Whistle on Asthma) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Reunion Arena. Counted among their donors and sponsors are a number of generous businesses and individuals in Grapevine, the DFW airport area as well as in the Dallas community.

The connection between Pegasus and the American Lung Association began when Pegasus CEO and president Ken Beam became involved after his son Kyle was diagnosed with asthma. His personal mission is to help educate other parents and asthma sufferers about the disease as well as to do what he can to help find a cure. This year Mr. Beam served as the Corporate Chair for the Asthma Walk.

There was no shortage of supporters among Pegasus employees and family. "Our original mission was to raise ten thousand dollars, and it is a real tribute to our teamwork and focus that we were able to exceed our goal and raise this amount of money," said Laura Hofmann, a customer service agent with Pegasus.

Intent on improving the lives of asthma sufferers and their families, Mr. Beam and the employees of Pegasus Logistics Group have made the American Lung Association fundraiser an annual event.
